Synopsis

Marie, facing her death, hands her daughter Irene a final piece of paper to leave behind in the world, and Irene wants to know what exactly burdened Marie's life.

In 1891, Marie heads to France to attend Sorbonne University. On the train, she meets Anne. As Polish women from a small country and foreigners, the two deeply empathize with each other's experiences as outsiders and quickly become friends, relying on each other to endure the hardships of life in Paris. In 1898, Marie discovers the new element radium and receives the Nobel Prize with her husband Pierre for her achievement. Anne also gets a job at a radium clock factory through Marie's introduction, realizing her dream life.

Furthermore, Marie focuses on the medical possibilities of radium and conducts clinical trials of radium therapy, devoting herself to saving many patients with incurable diseases.

Meanwhile, at the radium clock factory where Anne works, unexplained deaths of workers continue. With her sharp intellect, Anne discovers that the company has been manipulating autopsy records to conceal the dangers of radium. To uncover the truth behind the workers' mysterious deaths, Anne climbs to the top of the factory's tall tower.

Marie faces the two sides of radium, its light and shadow.

What will her choice be?

It was a work I had never heard of before, but I was surprised to learn that it had won many awards.

Marie Curie, the first female Nobel Prize winner.

Her obsession and passion for radium

The actors skillfully incorporate acting and singing to deliver a moving performance.

Why are photos only allowed during the curtain call?

Wouldn't it be okay to take some stage photos when the performance isn't on or a few commemorative shots in the audience...?
