The meeting of Yesan apples and Canadian brewing technology
Yesan has been cultivating apples with high sweetness and a crisp, sweet and sour taste thanks to its favorable climate conditions that provide meticulous care until the apple blossoms bloom and the fruits ripen in abundance.
The unique quality of Yesan apples is recognized for its sweet and sour taste with a hint of fragrance. It contains more sugar, which promotes digestion and absorption, organic acids, which are effective in fatigue recovery and arteriosclerosis, and calcium, which is effective in preventing hypertension, compared to apples from other regions, making it popular throughout the country.
Based on the foundation laid by Jeong Seong-hak, who has cultivated apple orchards for 40 years, his son-in-law, Jeong Je-min, a winemaker who learned brewing in Canada, started making wine and brandy.
Instead of a liquor factory that produces mass-produced goods, it is a European-style farm winery with a winery built within an apple orchard, along with a restaurant, a seminar room, and pension-style accommodations.

After getting a stamp on my Brewery Passport during my visit, a staff member offered to give me a tour, and I happily followed.
I'm envious of the display cabinets showcasing the released liquors.
I received a comprehensive explanation of how the released liquors are made.
I wish I could try them all, but that would be greedy, wouldn't it?
They are aged as wine and brandy, depending on the distillation method.
Oak barrels reserved by Baek Jong-won (entrepreneur).
Oak barrels reserved by Heo Young-man (cartoonist).
Me, wanting to reserve an oak barrel.
The oak barrels reserved by celebrities are stacked up, and they are opened after 3 years of aging.
Please let me know when they are opened. I'd love to be there.
Yesan Apple Wine Story
The reason why the wine produced at Yesan Apple Wine is named Chusa (秋史) has several complex meanings.
First, we started with the principle of not using foreign names haphazardly.
After considering a name that could capture the regional characteristics and features of the raw materials, Chusa was born.
After completing the Yesan Apple Winery in 2010, we began to produce wine in earnest.
Yesan Apple Wine is recognized as a successful model of the agricultural 6th industry, encompassing apple cultivation (primary industry), wine production (secondary industry), and winery tour experience tourism (tertiary industry).
Visitors to the winery can enjoy a fun winery tour experience program that includes apple picking, apple pie making, apple jam making, wine & brandy tasting, and meals.
With a guesthouse also available, you can spend a time full of diverse experiences and healing with the fragrant apples.

The Yesan Apple Wine Festival is held every November when the apples ripen. It is a festival where families, friends, and acquaintances gather to celebrate the year's harvest, hold a small music concert, and enjoy various apple and wine-related experiences and barbecue meals.
It is an event hosted directly by Yesan Apple Wine, attracting numerous domestic and international visitors who come to enjoy the festival.
Yesan Apple Wine is also actively promoting cultural marketing of its products utilizing these cultural contents.

I hope the COVID-19 pandemic ends soon so that the festival can resume, and we can all enjoy it together.
I couldn't do a tasting because I was driving, but I bought some liquor to enjoy at home.
Products with scratched stickers are available at a slightly discounted price (they taste the same, though).
Enjoying the wine with a piece of cake I bought from Tous Les Jours haha.
