A brewery filled with wistful memories and warm affection in Sangju, the land of the three whites (Sambaek).
Brewed with Sambaek rice and traditional nuruk (yeast starter)
The fermentation room, passed down through three generations, and the over-century-old fermentation vats are still actively engaged in their work of emptying and filling. Euncheok Brewery's live makgeolli (unfiltered rice wine) is a milky rice wine brewed with freshly harvested Sangju Sambaek rice and traditional nuruk from the Sangju region. It boasts a smooth, refreshing finish characteristic of rice makgeolli.

Won the grand prize in the Live Makgeolli category at the 2016 Korea Traditional Liquor Competition.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, I was only able to receive a stamp upon my visit.
I got back into the car with a sense of slight disappointment, but shortly after, they brought out a bottle of makgeolli.
They kindly gifted me a bottle, saying that since I had traveled so far, I should at least be able to enjoy the taste at home.

As soon as I got home, I enjoyed a taste with a simple side dish.
It has a smooth, easy-to-drink texture and a delightful sweet and slightly bitter taste.
